How to play Sudoku
Sudoku is a logic puzzle played on a 9 × 9 grid split into nine smaller 3 × 3 boxes. Some cells are filled before you start. Complete the remaining squares using the digits 1 to 9 so that no digit repeats in any row, column or box. No arithmetic is needed: the numbers are symbols, and every move should follow from the clues.
Use pencil notes
When you are unsure, switch on Notes and record the possible digits in a square. Revisit the notes after solving another cell. A single remaining candidate is often your next answer.
Check each 3 × 3 box
Consider one digit at a time. If it is already present in two of the three rows that cross a box, the remaining row may reveal where that digit belongs.
What makes the daily puzzle different?
Everyone receives the same daily puzzle for each difficulty level on a given UTC date. Your progress is saved in your own browser; it is not uploaded to an account. Prefer something new? Choose Practice and generate another puzzle at any time.

What is the difference between Easy, Medium and Hard?
Easy puzzles begin with more revealed numbers; Medium and Hard start with fewer. Every puzzle is checked by the generator to have exactly one solution. Hard puzzles may still vary in the techniques they require.
Will I lose my game when I close the tab?
Your current numbers, notes and elapsed time are saved in local browser storage. Clearing site data or switching devices can remove or separate your progress.
What if a puzzle feels too difficult?
Try checking a row or box with many clues, turn on Notes, or use Hint to reveal one correct cell. You can switch to Easy at any time.
How do automatic notes and duplicate highlighting work?
Auto-fill notes adds candidate numbers to empty squares based on your current entries. If a number is repeated in the same row, column or 3 × 3 box, both entries are highlighted. You can switch this highlighting off while practicing. Auto-filled notes should be reconsidered after correcting mistakes.
How are daily streaks counted?
Your streak grows when you finish at least one daily puzzle on consecutive UTC dates. Solving three difficulty levels on the same day still counts as one day. The streak and best times remain on this device only.
